An industrial area
The project is called AMAZON Logistics Centre in Rostock.
It’s an industrial area that was paved during summer 2021.
Amazon plans to deliver its parcels in Rostock and the surrounding area with electric vans, and the company therefore installed a large number of charging stations around its logistics centre.
Special were the areas around the many concrete foundations, which could only be paved by hand. Charging stations for electric vehicles were later installed on these concrete foundations.
The order worth of the asphalt work was €830,000 and Rask Mecklenburg installed approx. 45,000m² of asphalt in two layers. On site, Rask Mecklenburg acted as subcontractor for the company Hagedorn GmbH, Germany.
It was a very interesting and future-oriented construction project. At the same time, Amazon is building another logistics centre in Dummerstorf (also near Rostock). Rask Mecklenburg received the order for the asphalt work and just now, one of the asphalt teams is again paving a section with asphalt. Rask Mecklenburg will start working on another assignment in spring 2022, when the asphalt top layers have been installed.
